Sin, Darkness and Solace

Now this is an old one. Back during July of 2010, I was so hype about Starcraft 2 releasing a month or so later. Being that this was during my formative years where I wrote exclusively fan fiction, I spent the following months writing my own Starcraft story. It's been so long that I can't really remember what was going on in my head during that time, but I remember having a lot of fun while writing this. It was so fun, in fact, that I wrote much of the story on one of those legal pads (in pen too, very reckless) which I still have somewhere.

I finished this story well after Wings of Liberty launched, but my original plans involved what little I knew about WoL at the time: that being Prince Valerian Mengsk (whom I learned about from I, Mengsk) and Xel'naga artifacts from pre-release teasers.

Looking back, I'd probably fix a lot of stuff. The sentence flow and the verbiage isn't up to current par, but I am still happy about the way I handled the female, protoss protagonist. Part of the reason I wrote this was because all of the Starcraft fan fic at the time was "group of terrans does thing" and I wanted to explore more of the protoss.

Hard Men Working Hard

 Iron Age Media, August 16 Prompt A working man's a working man. Size, mass, it don't matter. Men who know their trade, know their task and know how to take orders are worth their weight in gold. The Stolok Crew, by virtue of their skill and stature, are worth double their weight. You wouldn't know it by looking, but Stolok and his men are mountain fellers. They do with a small six what it takes entire villages of men to do. Part of it is their trade: explosive making and handling is a very, very rare skill in the times they live. Assigning all the virtue to demolition would be insulting to the gnomes.
